Olympic swimming continues on in Tokyo, where American Caeleb Dressel is going for another gold medal in the 100m butterfly as a -1000 favorite.
Elsewhere, Australian Emma McKeon is the heavy -300 favorite to win gold in the women’s 100m freestyle.

TOKYO - Swimming is the sport possibly the most synonymous with the Olympics, and this year in Tokyo has solidified that fact with defining performances from some of the biggest names in the sport.

One of those names is American Caeleb Dressel, who already owns the gold medal in Tokyo for the 100m freestyle and the 4x100 freestyle relay.

Now, Dressel is going for his third gold in the same Games with his entry into the 100m butterfly competition.

Dressel broke the Olympic Record for the 100m butterfly in his preliminary round on Wednesday in Tokyo with a time of 50.39 seconds.

The next closest time in his heat was 50.97 seconds - over half a full second slower than Dressel.

It is clear that Dressel is the man to watch these Olympics, and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

Swimmer Caeleb Dressel is on his way to becoming the next Michael Phelps in the sport.
Dressel will be competing in seven competitions in the 2021 Summer Olympics, representing the United States for swimming.
Sportsbooks have not yet put odds out on the athlete but he has been crushing the trials, making him a lock to possibly win seven medals at the Tokyo 2021 games.

TOKYO – Swimmer Caeleb Dressel is a two-time Olympic gold medalist that now has seven chances to take home the gold in the 2021 Summer Olympics for swimming.

Dressel by all accounts would be considered a lock to win the gold in a number of the competitions he will be participating in, despite sportsbooks not having odds out on the athlete yet.

However, the 24-year-old has been taking the first-place spot during the Olympic trials, even tying the men’s 50- meter freestyle record of 21.04 which he set himself in 2019 during the World Championships in South Korea. Sportsbooks are sure to have quite a few Olympic betting odds set on the athlete who could possibly be the next Michael Phelps.

Dressel doesn’t think, he just swims, and it’s that lack of thinking that has put him on everyone’s radar for the 2021 Olympic games.

“There’s only so much you can think about a race that lasts 21 seconds,” said Dressel. “I knew that I had a chance to be 21-low – a good race is what I thought I saw on the board. So, I’m really happy with that, I thought I held stroke together pretty well, I got a little choppy in the middle of the pool, but the beginning and end were as good as they could have been.”

When it comes to strokes, Billy Squier has nothing on Dressel who has it down to a science that seems to work. His mind is as clear as the water when he’s in it and his focus is just to do his best rather than set any straight goals for himself.
