PARIS – Two Olympic women’s boxers are competing in the 2024 Paris Games despite being previously barred from women’s events like the 2023 Women’s World Championship for gender eligibility. The story has gone wild in the media, but Olympic betting odds have also taken note of the gender controversy.

Olympic boxers Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan and Imane Khelif of Algeria were deemed biologically male last year at the Women’s World Championship for boxing. Now, since the International Olympic Committee no longer recognizes the International Boxing Association and only refers to the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit, the fighters are eligible to compete in the Olympics.
