PARIS – With so many different swimming events and styles at the 2024 Paris Olympic, there are plenty of ways to get in on the betting action. Here are some of the best ways to bet on Olympic swimming, including valuable Olympic betting odds and places to bet.

Men’s 100m Breaststroke Odds

Adam Peaty (GBR) -110

Qin Haiyang (CHN) +120

Nic Fink (USA) +1100

Arno Kamminga (NED) +2000

Evgenii Somov (AIN) +2000

Samuel Williamson (AUS) +2000

Sun Jiajun (CHN) +2000

Melvin Imoudu (GER) +2500

Nicolo Martinenghi (ITA) +2500

Charlie Swanson (USA) +5000

Lucas Matzerath (GER) +5000

Casper Corbeau (NED) +6600

James Wilby (GBR) +6600

Omer Ogretir (TUR) +6600

Andrius Sidlauskas (LTU) +7500

Ludovico Viberti (ITA) +7500

The 100m Breaststroke is the most commonly used swim stroke but it’s the slowest in terms of Olympic competitive swim strokes. Adam Peaty has -110 odds to win the gold medal, but Qin Haiyang’s +120 odds are right behind him.

Meanwhile, the freestyle is the fastest stroke and one of the most entertaining to watch. As indicated by aquatic betting odds, David Popovici expects to win the Men’s 200m Freestyle gold medal with -300 odds.

Men’s 200m Freestyle Betting Odds

David Popovici (ROU) -300

Lukas Martens (GER) +550

Hwang Sun-Woo (KOR) +900

Matt Richards (GBR) +1000

Pan Zhanle (CHN) +1400

Duncan Scott (GBR) +1600

Luke Hobson (USA) +2200

Danas Rapsys (LTU) +2500

Maximilian Giuliani (AUS) +2500

Chris Guiliano (USA) +4000

Katsuhiro Matsumoto (JPN) +5000

Lee Ho-Joon (KOR) +6600

Thomas Neill (AUS) +7500

Alessandro Ragaini (ITA) +10000

Rafael Miroslaw (GER) +10000

Popovici is an incredibly talented swimmer that also has the second-shortest odds to win the Men’s 100m Freestyle at +175 odds behind favorite Pan Zhanle. Zhanle is also competing in the 200m for China, but his long +1400 odds prove he’s more effective in a shorter race.

Olympic Swimming Betting Odds For Backstroke And Butterfly

Two other exciting ways to bet on Summer Olympics betting odds for swimming are the Men’s 100m Backstroke and the Men’s 200m Butterfly competitions. Ryan Murphy of the United States has the chance to win two gold medals, as he’s +150 for the 100m Backstroke and +175 for the 200m Backstroke.

Men’s 100m Backstroke Odds

Ryan Murphy (USA) +150

Xu Jiayu (CHN) +275

Apostolos Christou (GRE) +300

Thomas Ceccon (ITA) +400

Hunter Armstrong (USA) +1200

Hubert Kos (HUN) +2500

Hugo Gonzalez (ESP) +2500

Oliver Morgan (GBR) +2500

Evangelos Makrygiannis (GRE) +3300

Mewen Tomac (FRA) +4000

Pieter Coetze (RSA) +4000

Yohann Ndoye-Brouard (FRA) +4000

Jonathon Marshall (GBR) +5000

Blake Tierney (CAN) +8000

Isaac Cooper (AUS) +8000

Bradley Woodward (AUS) +10000

Murphy recently took home the 100m Backstroke gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships final over world record holder Thomas Ceccon. Ceccon has +400 odds to get revenge at the 2024 Paris Olympics and bring home a gold medal for Italy.

Men’s 200m Butterfly Odds

Leon Marchand (FRA) +130

Kristof Milak (HUN) +175

Tomoru Honda (JPN) +350

Krzysztof Chmielewski (POL) +1400

Thomas Heilman (USA) +1400

Genki Terakado (JPN) +2000

Ilya Kharun (CAN) +2500

Noe Ponti (SUI) +3300

Giacomo Carini (ITA) +3500

Alberto Razzeti (ITA) +4000

Luca Urlando (USA) +4000

Michal Chmielewski (POL) +4000

Martin Espernberger (AUT) +6000

Kim Min-Seop (KOR) +6600

Niu Guangsheng (CHN) +10000

Matthew Sates (RSA) +15000

Leon Marchand leads the board of Bovada Olympic betting odds for the Men’s 200m Butterfly competition with +130 odds. Kristof Milak (+175) and Tomoru Honda (+350) trail before a big odds drop at Krzysztof Chmielewski at +1400 odds.

Kliment Kolesnikov (+175) and Xu Jiayu (+350) are both worthy competitors as well.

TOKYO – The 100m backstroke is lining up to be one of the most exciting and closely contested events in the 2021 Olympics. This event will have world record holders, former gold medalists, rising stars and more as sportsbooks are unable to separate any athlete from the rest of the field.

The Case To Be Made For Each Swimmer

The event from this field is so loaded that there truly is a case to be made for multiple athletes, even some who don’t carry odds as short as the favorites. Betting on Olympic swimming could be more profitable this year than in year’s past as there’s no true top athlete.

Ryan Murphy (+250)

Murphy is a three-time Olympic gold medalist with all three coming from the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Further, he is the world record holder in the 100m backstroke with a time of 51.85 seconds.

He qualified with a time of 52.33 seconds, relatively far off his personal best but still respectable. He won the event in 2016, but is not pegged as the favorite to defend his title.

Evgeny Rylov (+150)

Rylov, the favorite, won the bronze medal in 2016 in the 200m backstroke and will be making his debut in the 100m. Evgeny has set multiple junior world records and has recently won the 100m backstroke event in both the Naples and London matches in the International Swimming League.

Kliment Kolesnikov (+175)

Kolesnikov is just 21 years old and has 23 gold medals to his name. Although they aren’t all Olympic gold medals, it’s no cakewalk to win world championships.

He also has been recorded with a 52.13 second time in the 100m. Kolesnikov could very well be the future, but he also may succeed sooner rather than later.

Xu Jiayu (+350)

Jiayu finished behind Murphy is 2016 and was able to leave Rio De Janeiro with a silver medal. He won the 2019 World Aquatics Championship 100m backstroke, beating Rylov, Murphy and Kolesnikov.

His personal best for the event is 51.86 seconds.

Darkhorse Candidates

Even though the aforementioned group has shorter odds than the field, those looking to bet on the Olympics shouldn’t rule out a different competitor winning.

Robert Glinta (+2000)

Glinta is coming off of a gold medal in the 100m backstroke in the 2021 European Championships. And while his personal best is 52.88 seconds, he’s yet another former junior world record holder.

Mitch Larkin (+1100)

Larkin competed in both the 100m and 200m backstroke in 2016, missing the podium in the 100m and winning silver in the 200m. He has a personal best time of 52.11 seconds, meaning thus far he’s shown the ability to put up a faster time than guys like Kolesnikov.
