Sui Wenjing, Han Cong (China)

The Chinese figure skating pair team is made up of two experienced figure skaters in Sui Wenjing and Han Cong. The two have been paired together in the pair figure skating event since winning their first gold medal way back in 2011. Together, they have won 14 total gold medals in the pair events. Those include two World Championships, six at the Four Continents Championships, One at the Grand Prix, three Junior World Championships, and two Junior Grand Prix’s. The two also won the silver medal for the pair event back in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Anastasia Mishina, Aleksandr Galliamov (ROC)

The pair of Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov for the ROC, although might not have as much experience that China does, could turn out to be a great story, and their figure skating odds certainly back that. The two have been paired for some time and have won seven total gold medals together with their first coming in 2016 at the Junior Grand Prix. Since then, they have captured gold at the 2018 Junior Grand Prix, World Junio Championships, World Team Trophy, European Championships, and World Championships.

It is also worth noting that they each won gold in the team figure skating event at this year's 2022 Winter Olympics. What makes this a great story is that they made their World Championship debut in 2021 and have yet to miss an opportunity at a gold medal. They are also the second-youngest pair to win the World Championships.

Main Competition For The Event Is Himself

With Chen's closest competitor in the Olympic men's figure skating odds listed at +275 (Yuzura Hanyu), it is clear that anything but a Chen win would be a massive upset. The recipe for an upset may have less to do with his opponent’s potential for greatness, and more to do with the likelihood Chen falls apart on the largest of stages.

Nathan Chen went into the 2018 Winter Olympics as the betting favorite to win the figure skating event but totally fell apart in the short program portion of the event. The short program portion is the first event for men's individual figure skating, and Chen finished in 17th.

He had stated that he was struggling with nerves, and that was apparent in both the individual and team events that he performed in.

Part of what makes betting on the Olympics so difficult is the nerve factor for athletes who are attempting to live out their dreams with millions of people watching. Chen struggled with that the first time around but has more than proven his worldwide dominance since 2018.

Chen has dominated the US Figure Skating Scene for a long time, but his greatness in the U.S. Championships alone should make him a massive favorite in the Olympics.

BEIJING – As the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics draw closer, the United States is beginning to ramp up its athletes for each sport. One sport, in particular, to keep an eye on is figure skating.

Looking at where the United States currently sits in the figure skating qualifiers, Nathan Chen is the one that is leading the way. Chen competed at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic in the team event where he earned a bronze medal.

Other than the bronze medal he earned, he has made a name for himself in the singles tournaments as well. He has eight gold medals in singles tournaments with his last one coming in 2021 at the Stockholm World Championship.

In addition to his 2021 World Championship gold medal, he has three total World Championship gold medals, three Grand Prix gold medals, and Four Continents gold medals.

Looking into the odds, figure skating Olympic odds are not yet available, however, it is safe to assume that when they do come out that Chen will be somewhere near the top of the odds board.
