The United States has -2500 odds to not boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Norway has the shortest odds to boycott, sitting at +750.

BEIJING – The 2022 Winter Olympics are in danger of being boycotted from a handful of prominent countries. However, the odds show there is little chance of any country sitting out of the games in Beijing.

United States Odds To Boycott

The reason why people are calling for the 2022 Winter Olympics has been well-documented, but despite the alleged wrongdoings and public demands for the games to be boycotted, the odds suggest the United States will send athletes to the event.

The wording of the bet is important as it states the country needs to “fully boycott” the event. Reports suggested that President Biden may diplomatically boycott the Olympics, but that would still allow athletes to attend and compete.

There have been no signs of a full boycott of the Olympics that are set to begin in just a couple of weeks. If there is any boycott at all from the United States, it will be diplomatic which is why the odds are so lopsided towards no full boycott.

Other Countries Odds To Boycott

The Olympic betting odds for other countries seem to mirror the United States’ in that it’s highly unlikely that any listed country decides to fully boycott the Olympics in Beijing.

Even though some countries are seemingly more likely than others, none of these prominent countries are seemingly actually considering a full boycott in which their athletes are prevented from competing. Morally, it may make sense to push for a boycott, but for betting purposes, the opposite couldn’t be more true.

The 2022 Winter Olympics opening ceremony is scheduled for February 4, 2022.

Joe Choong and Adam Marosi are the favorites to win the men’s side of the Modern Pentathlon.

The field for the Women’s Modern Pentathlon is fairly open, with only one competitor having odds longer than +1000.

Kate French, of the United Kingdom, leads the odds boards alongside Michelle Gulyas. French is a decorated competitor, who won gold at the 2013 Modern Pentathlon championships, but fell short at the 2016 Olympics, finishing fifth.

Gulyas, on the other hand, was the upset victor of the UIPM World Cup. The Hungarian claimed this honor in April 2021, and seems to be in fine form coming into this competition.

Gulyas enters this event ranked as the best competitor at the Games by UIPM, with French just behind her.

An interesting diversion occurs here, however, with UIPM giving Annika Schleu the third spot on their rankings, while the online sportsbooks have her near the bottom of the odds boards.

Schleu finished sixth place in 2012 and fourth place in 2016, and this could be her chance to finally win an Olympic medal in Modern Pentathlon.

The men’s Modern Pentathlon odds boards resemble the women’s odds boards in that they both have significantly open fields.

At the top of the Men’s field is Joe Choong of the United Kingdom, who finished 10th in the 2016 Olympics. Choong won a gold medal at the 2019 European Championships, and a silver at the 2018 World Championships - but both were as part of the team event.

At the 2021 World Cup, Choong struck gold, winning the Modern Pentathlon and cementing himself as a favorite on the online sportsbooks.

Another favorite of Olympic betting fans in the men’s field is Adam Marosi. Marosi is a dedicated competitor and is ranked first by UIPM. At the 2021 World Championships in Cairo, Marosi took home the gold medal in the Individual Modern Pentathlon and then helped Hungary win gold in the team event as well.

Great Britain is much higher with 14.5 golds, as Australia sits at 12.5.

TOKYO – The betting odds for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics only continue to appear across online sportsbooks, with more countries being added this week.

While the USA is expected to dominate the Olympics, some medium-sized countries now have over/under lines for their total Gold Medal count in Tokyo.

It will likely come down to a few events, like Olympic surfing that will decide if Brazil hits the over here.

Still, with seven medals in 2016, the over is the way to lean on this particular wager.
