Richardson proved she’s a lock with a 10.71-second 100m, but Jefferson wasn’t far behind at 10.80 seconds.

PARIS – Bovada’s USA special for the Women’s 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics is the best way to get value on Sha’Carri Richardson. Richardson is the heavy favorite with -185 Olympic betting odds to win the 100m gold medal, but betting the USA special that includes fellow American Melissa Jefferson to win the silver or bronze medal has +280 odds.

USA Women’s 100m Betting Special

Sha'Carri Richardson to Win Gold Medal And Melissa Jefferson To Win Silver Or Bronze +280

Richardson proved she’s the fastest woman in the world at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, winning all three races and setting the world-leading time of 10.71 seconds. Her -185 track & field betting odds are a lock, so the pressure is on Melissa Jefferson, who has +1600 odds to win gold.

Olympic Odds Women’s 100m Gold Medal Winner

Sha'Carri Richardson (USA) -185

Shericka Jackson (JAM) +410

Julien Alfred (LCA) +575

Melissa Jefferson (USA) +1600

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (JAM) +1600

Tia Clayton (JAM) +2500

Dina Asher-Smith (GBR) +3300

Marie-Josee Ta Lou (CIV) +3300

Twanisha Terry (USA) +3300

Rosemary Chukwuma (NGR) +10000

Jefferson Primed For Silver Or Bronze Medal Finish

Shericka Jackson of Jamaica has far shorter odds than Jefferson to win gold, but she ran the 100m 0.04 seconds slower than Jefferson at their respective Olympic trials. In fact, Jefferson’s 10.80-second 100m was faster than both Jackson (10.84) and Julien Alfred (10.85), who have far shorter odds.

Odds To Win a Medal at Women's 100m

Sha'carri Richardson (USA) -2000

Julien Alfred (LCA) -400

Shericka Jackson (JAM) -167

Melissa Jefferson (USA) +140

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (JAM) +170

Tia Clayton (JAM) +200

Jefferson’s +140 odds to win a medal at the Women’s 100m have great value as the second-fastest athlete in the field. It makes the +280 Bovada Olympic betting odds for the USA special even better with Richardson expected to take gold.

PARIS – All eyes will be on Sha’Carri Richardson at the Women’s 100m race as she makes her Olympics debut. 2024 Paris Olympic betting odds favor Richardson with -155 odds to win the Women’s 100m gold medal on Aug. 3.

Richardson will finally make her Olympics debut after missing out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to testing positive for marijuana. She now heads to her first Olympic games in the best form of her life, setting an event record 10.65-second 100m at the World Championships in August.

Richardson Faces Tough Competition in Jackson and Alfred

Although Richardson’s the top women’s 100m runner in the world, a gold medal is no guarantee in Paris. She’ll have to get by Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson, who is an Olympic silver medalist with a personal-best 10.65-second 100m under her belt.

Although Jackson has the experience, a first-time Olympian with longer track & field betting odds could win the Women’s 100m gold medal in Paris. Julien Alfred (+650) of Saint Lucia beat Richardson by 0.08 seconds back in 2023 at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, putting her blazing speed on display.

Jamaicans Pose Biggest Threat To Lyles At Men’s 100m

If not Lyles, the top two Jamaican runners are the best bets to win the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kishane Thompson has +250 odds to win despite running a 9.77-second 100m at the Jamaican Olympic trials, the fastest 100m since American Fred Kerley (9.76) in 2022.

PARIS - With the opening ceremony just over five months out (July 26), the focus on Olympic betting odds is coming back into focus. While World Championships and Olympic qualifiers are in full effect, only one betting odds has hit Olympic betting sites so far.

Odds For Most Gold Medals Paris 2024

*Olympics betting odds taken from Bovada

The odds for the most Olympic gold medals in 2024 have the United States as a heavy favorite. With -850 odds, one would need to risk $8.5 for every dollar won. In other words, a bet of $85 on the US to win the most gold medals would pay out $95 ($85 bet + $10 winnings).

This expensive bet makes sense, as the United States being dominant in athletics and swimming creates an excellent upper hand.

The US has led the Athletics gold medal count every year. In fact, you have to go back to 1980, when the United States led a boycott of the Summer Olympic Games in Moscow to find the last time the US didn't finish atop the gold medal table for track and field.

As for swimming, it's a similar story. The 1988 Olympics in South Korea was the last time the US didn't finish with the most gold medals in swimming. But, 2020 was a challenge for the US, as it was the first time on their run that they didn't have at least five more gold medals than the next country. With a strong swimming focus from Australia, Canada, Great Britain, and China, the swimming events may hold the US back.

Still, the US has been dominant over the last few Olympics, gaining the most gold medals every year since 1992 when Unified Team - a joint group of former Soviet republics - beat out the US by eight.

With the addition of break dancing, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing, the IOC hopes to grab the attention of a younger demographic.

What Will The Paris Olympic Gold Medals Look Like?

One fun fact about the gold medals for Paris 2024 is their design. The medal comes from iron girders on the Eiffel Tower, which were replaced during renovations and refurbishments. France's mint, the Monnaie de Paris, is responsible for the creation of the medals which feature Nike, the Greek goddess of victory on the back. She is seen running forward with the Eiffel Tower on one side and the Acropolis on the other.

Similarly, the medals for Paralympic athletes have "Paris 2024" stamped in braille in a shot from under the Eiffel Tower.

Abdul Hakim Sani Brown is currently being called the “second coming of Bolt.”

Bolt wants to watch many different sports during the 2020 Olympics.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Usain Bolt has advice for Tokyo 2020 athletes and is excited to watch the Games.

Bolt And Japan

Bolt holds the world record for both the 100 and 200-meter sprint. Because of that, his word carries a lot of weight for incoming athletes. The 100-meter sprint world record is 9.58 seconds and it was set by Bolt in 2009. Bolt set the 200-meter sprint world record the same year with a time of 19.19 seconds.

Bolt definitely sees the potential in upcoming athletes. Abdul Hakim Sani Brown is a Japanese athlete currently attending the University of Florida. Sani Brown runs a 100-meter sprint with a time of 9.97 seconds. Sani Brown now holds the Japanese national record with that time.

"I think he has a lot of potential for the future as he is still young. With the right coaching and advice, he can get even faster and hopefully make the Olympic final next year," said Bolt.

Usain Bolt said that he believes that people are capable of running faster than he ever did. With the right training, Sani Brown could be that athlete. But being the competitor that he is, Bolt wants his records to “stay for some years to come.”

Bolt further went on to say that the Japanese have great athletes. He said although they are not fast individually, they are well drilled. Bolt said that is why they ended up in second for the 4x100-meter relay in Rio 2016.

The Spectator Life

OlympicBettingOdds.com suspects now that Bolt is now retired, he is planning to enjoy the 2020 Olympics as a spectator. Normally, he would watch soccer, athletics, basketball, and swimming events. But he would not get the full experience due to the fact he had to compete himself. Now as a spectator, he will finally have the time to enjoy himself at the Olympics. He will likely watch these sports among others while he is in Tokyo.

But that isn’t all Bolt has to say about the upcoming Olympics. The sprint legend has some advice for the athletes who will compete.

"It is important to go out there and enjoy the moment. Sometimes it is better not to read everything that is written about you or worry what people are saying ahead of the competition," said Bolt.
