PARIS – The United States women’s soccer team has -2000 odds to win their first Olympic match against Zambia. Team USA has -115 Olympic betting odds to cover the 3.0-goal spread in their first Group B win.

Based on gold medal odds, Team USA is a clear top-two team with Spain. Leadership from veteran players helps their case, as captain Lindsey Horan has solid +110 odds to score in the opening match.

Mallory Swanson was also a part of the Women’s World Cup winning squad in 2019 but comes with more favored -175 odds. The best way to bet on USA women’s soccer at the Olympics is on their gold medal odds and odds to win their pool.

Women’s Olympic Soccer Futures Odds

The United States have +225 Olympic football betting odds to win gold after disappointing recent finishes. The USA took home bronze in 2020 but failed to medal in 2016. For the 2024 Paris Olympics odds, they favor Spain at +175 odds.

Women’s Olympic Soccer Gold Medal Odds

New Zealand (W) +10000

Zambia (W) +10000

Spain took home the 2023 Women’s World Cup and returns plenty of talent for the Olympics. Instead of betting on the Americans to win gold, there are -275 for USA to win Pool B.

Olympic Women's Soccer Group B Winner Odds

USA (W) -275

Germany (W) +375

Australia (W) +500

Zambia (W) +2200

Team USA gets an easy tune-up match against Zambia to start pool play, but Germany (+375) and Australia (+500) could be problematic. The Women’s National Team split two international friendlies with Germany back in 2022.

Germany has three of the four shortest betting odds to win the men's Skeleton event in the Winter Olympics

Women's Skeleton odds reflect a similar German advantage, with two of the four shortest odds to win

BEIJING - The first 2022 Winter Olympics Skeleton event takes place on Thursday, February 10. Betting odds on the for both the men's and women's Skeleton events have been released and there is value to be found for both events.

Men's and women's Skeleton events have two different styles of betting odds apiece: outright winner and top three finish. When betting on the Olympics there are often "Top Three Winner" odds because that indicates if an athlete medaled in their event.

German Men Given Strong Odds To Win Multiple Medals

Three of the four shortest odds for a top three finish in the men's Skeleton event belong to Olympians from Germany.

German Athlete:

Odds To Win Outright:

Odds To Medal:

Alexander Gassner

+550

+125

Axel Jungk

+550

+125

While none are outright favored to medal, the betting odds indicate a strong likelihood that the German men win at least one if not multiple medals. The performance by Christopher Grotheer, Alexander Gassner, and Axel Jungk at the Skeleton World Cup certainly contributed to that.

German Athlete:

World Cup Time:

World Cup Finish:

Axel Jungk

2.15.04

T-4th

German Women Given Strong Odds Despite Poor Performance At 2022 Skeleton World Cup

Similar to their fellow countrymen, German women have been given short Olympic Skeleton betting odds to medal and win outright. Unlike their German counterparts, the German women did not perform well at the 2022 World Cup.

German Athlete:

Odds To Win Outright:

Odds To Medal:

World Cup Finish:

+160

12th

Hannah Neise

+1800

+450

8th

Of the three, only Hannah Neise's odds to win or medal make sense. She has the 10th shortest odds for both bet styles after finishing in eighth at the World Cup. Tina Hermann and Jacqueline Loelling have the second and fourth shortest odds in both events even though both finished tenth or worse at the World Cup.

Norway’s total medals at the Winter Olympics is set at 42.5.

Russia’s total for medals won is 31.5.

BEIJING – The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are just two weeks away and there are plenty of betting odds to get in on. Some of the most popular betting odds that are available for the Winter Olympics are the total medals won by each country.

With those odds, bettors can bet on whether they think each country will go Over or Under their given total.

United States Total Medals

Total Medals – United States

Over 23.5 +115

Under 23.5 -150

In what seems to be eye-opening, Olympic betting sites have the United States medal total set low considering that they have gone Over this mark in four of the last five Winter Olympic games. The only time they stayed Under was in the 2018 Olympics where they finished with 23 total medals.

Betting $100 on the U.S. to hit the Over could profit $115 if they were to accomplish it.

Norway Total Medals

Total Medals – Norway

Over 42.5 -115

Under 42.5 -115

Norway has been given the highest medal total being that they are the leaders in all-time Winter Olympic medals won with 368 total medals.

Although Norway has asserted their dominance at the Winter Olympics, 42.5 might be a stretch to hit.

Norway has not gone over that mark in the last five Olympics, winning their most (39 medals) during the 2018 Olympics.

Germany Total Medals

Total Medals – Germany

Over 24.5 +10

Under 24.5 -145

Germany has stayed relevant in the medal conversation over the years as they have gone Over their 24.5 mark in four of the last Olympics.

In 2018 though, they won their second-most medals over the last five years with 31 won. Backing their odds, even more, is that they have the third shortest odds to win the most overall medals in Beijing at +1000.

Russia Total Medals

Total Medals – Russia

Over 31.5 -145

Under 31.5 +110

It is strange seeing Russia’s medal total set so high being that they have yet to hit the Over in the last five Olympics. In fact, they have only broken 30 total medals won once in that time period.

The only thing backing their Winter Olympic odds are their odds to lead in total medals which are the second shortest at +900.

Canada Total Medals

Total Medals – Canada

Over 22.5 -130

Under 22.5 +100

Canada is another country that has been hot over the last five Winter Olympics as they have gone Over four times.

However, those four times came in four straight Olympics. With that, their streak can certainly continue in Beijing.

BEIJING - Norway is favored to lead the Beijing Winter Olympics in gold medals but the United States aren’t too far down the list.

The United States has historically done pretty well in the Winter Olympics.

In all-time medal count the USA is second, trailing only Norway in both overall and gold medals. The upcoming Winter Olympics are expected to see Norway continue their success, at least according to the Olympic betting odds.

Beijing 2022 - Most Gold Medals Odds

Norway -250

Germany +300

Canada +800

USA +800

Russia +950

Interestingly, the United States’ odds have undergone some fairly significant changes over the last month and a half. Although they have remained fourth on the odds boards, they have gone from +600 to +800. However, as of late, the USA hasn’t performed too well in comparison to the field.

In 2018, the United States finished fourth in gold medals as they did in 2014. In 2010, they finished third in gold medal count and have seen similar results ever since 1932 - the last time the United States led the Winter Olympics in gold medals.

Norway’s Odds Getting Much Shorter

Back on October 11, Norway was the +185 favorite to lead all countries in gold medals. That line now looks like a steal as the country currently sits as the -250 favorite overall.

Norway has tied for the lead in gold medals in each of the last two Winter Olympics and is heavily favored to do so again.

It’s certainly no guarantee as it’s possible COVID plays a part in canceling events or forcing participants to miss an event, but as things stand Norway has been the best Winter Olympic country over the last 10+ years.

BEIJING – The 2022 Winter Olympics are in danger of being boycotted from a handful of prominent countries. However, the odds show there is little chance of any country sitting out of the games in Beijing.

United States Odds To Boycott

The reason why people are calling for the 2022 Winter Olympics has been well-documented, but despite the alleged wrongdoings and public demands for the games to be boycotted, the odds suggest the United States will send athletes to the event.

USA To Fully Boycott The 2022 Winter Olympic Games

Yes +800

No -2500

The wording of the bet is important as it states the country needs to “fully boycott” the event. Reports suggested that President Biden may diplomatically boycott the Olympics, but that would still allow athletes to attend and compete.

There have been no signs of a full boycott of the Olympics that are set to begin in just a couple of weeks. If there is any boycott at all from the United States, it will be diplomatic which is why the odds are so lopsided towards no full boycott.

Other Countries Odds To Boycott

The Olympic betting odds for other countries seem to mirror the United States’ in that it’s highly unlikely that any listed country decides to fully boycott the Olympics in Beijing.

Odds To Fully Boycott The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

Norway +750

United Kingdom +800

Canada +800

Netherlands +900

Germany +900

France +900

Of the listed countries, Norway is given the highest chance to boycott the Winter Olympics, but are still given long odds to do so. On the other side of the spectrum, Germany, France and the Netherlands are labeled as the least likely countries to boycott.

Canada and the United Kingdom are given the same betting line as the United States.

Even though some countries are seemingly more likely than others, none of these prominent countries are seemingly actually considering a full boycott in which their athletes are prevented from competing. Morally, it may make sense to push for a boycott, but for betting purposes, the opposite couldn’t be more true.

The 2022 Winter Olympics opening ceremony is scheduled for February 4, 2022.

Germany is next, with +200 odds, while no other countries have seen odds shorter than +500 yet.

BEIJING - The 2022 Winter Olympics are edging closer and closer, with a start date of Feb. 4, 2022.

Leading up to the Games, online sportsbooks that offer Olympic odds have begun to post betting lines on large scale categories, such as which country will come home with the most gold medals.

Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 - Most Gold Medals

Norway +185

Germany +200

Canada +600

USA +600

Russia +700

China +1500

Netherlands +2000

Sweden +3300

Austria +5000

France +5000

Switzerland +6600

Italy +10000

South Korea +10000

Finland +25000

Japan +25000

Poland +25000

The 2022 Winter Olympics medal odds seem very similar to how the 2018 odds ended up. In the 2018 Games, Norway and Germany tied for the most gold medals with 14 each.

Norway, however, ended up with 39 overall medals to Germany’s 31, and are thus listed first in the official count.

Past Medal Counts For The Winter Olympics

In 2014, when the Olympics were held in Sochi, Russia came out on top, with 11 gold medals and 30 overall medals, beating Norway to the finish by four overall medals, despite both countries ending up with 11 golds to bring home.

The 2010 Olympics was the last time that the Winter Olympics had a true outright gold medal winner, as there were ties for the gold medal category in both 2014 and 2018.

In 2010, however, Norway dominated, winning 14 gold medals, while Germany won 10 gold medals.

If one considers 2014 to be an outlier due to Russia’s home-field advantage, Norway has been the most consistent country in terms of gold medal production for the Winter Olympic Games.

However, 2006 was the last time Norway was not near the top of the gold medal list, although Germany dominated in 2006 to the tune of 11 gold medals, two more than their closest competitor, the United States.

This review of the previous four events of the Winter Olympics should make it clear that Norway is likely going to be at the top of the medal count while Germany is another top contender and other countries outside of the two are considered the longshots.

This seems to match up with the way the odds were set up by sportsbooks - Norway and Germany at the top with no other countries under odds of +500.

However, it seems likely that these betting lines will change and shift as the Games get closer, so smart betting fans might want to jump on any of the better looking odds they see now while they’re still available.

TOKYO – Fan Zhendong’s strong showing in the last few years has him being the runaway favorite at online sportsbooks to win the gold medal for Men’s Table Tennis at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.

Zhendong is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, a position he has held on to since 2018.

This will be the first time Zhendong competed in the Olympics.

Zhendong’s fellow Team China teammate Ma Long won the gold during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Long has the second shortest Olympic betting odds to win the gold at online sportsbooks.

Betting Fans Pick Fan Zhendong

Tokyo 2021 - Men's Individual

Fan Zhendong (CHN) -125

Ma Long (CHN) +138

Tomokazu Harimoto (JPN) +1000

Lin Yun-Ju (TPE) +2000

Hugo Calderano (BRA) +4000

Jang Woo-Jin (KOR) +5000

Zhendong being favored is no surprise. The 24-year-old table tennis champion just recently won the ITTF World Tour in Austria, China, and Germany. He also holds wins at the 2019 Asian Cup Table Tennis Tournament and the able Tennis World Cup (Men's Singles).

He has been held on the number one World Ranking with his shake attack playing style and has defeated multiple World Champions along the way, including beating Olympic gold medalist Ma Long at the 2020 ITTF Men’s World Cup Dusseldorf.

Ma Long did get the better of Zhendong a few days later at with a 4-1 win at the 2020 ITTF Finals, but Fan remains the favorite to win the gold.

The Olympics will be a new experience for Zhendong but he is no stranger to high-level competition. China is poised to continue its long dominance of table tennis at the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games with Fan Zhendong leading the way.
