TOKYO - The Americans are looking for more gold medals in the track and field events as sportsbooks have two Team USA members as the favorite for track and field events happening Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Britney Reese takes the headline as an SEC alumni, spending her college days at Ole Miss. The 34-year-old is a seven-time world champion, Olympic gold medalist, and the indoor American record holder in the long jump with a distance of 7.23 meters.

This looking to bet on Olympic track and field can get Reese for a terrific price of +325 - just slightly shorter than her odds of +350 a few days ago.

Athletics Long Jump Women Odds

Malaika Mihambo (GER) +275

Jazmin Sawyers (GBR) +8000

Brooke Stratton (AUS) +10000

German Malaika Mihambo, who will be her toughest competition in the event, who finished second in Group B (6.98m) behind Ivana Spanovic (7.0m).

While Mihambo missed out on a bronze medal in 2016, she remains Reese's biggest competitor, who landed a 6.86m jump over the weekend.

Tokyo 2021- 110m Hurdles Men Odds

Grant Holloway (USA) -275

Sergey Shubenkov (RUS) +725

Ronald Levy (JAM) +1000

Shunsuke Izumiya (JPN) +1800

Pascal Martinot-Lagarde (FRA) +5000

Aurel Manga (FRA) +6600

Asier Martinez (ESP) +8000

On the men's side, Grant Holloway is the current world record holder in the 60m hurdles, and the reigning world champion in the 110m.

Holloway’s time at the Olympic Trials was 12.81 seconds - the second fastest time recorded behind Aries Merritt’s 12.80 seconds. Given that he set this time on Jun. 26, it seems like Holloway could be in optimal form to win a gold medal when this event kicks off on Tuesday morning.

Longshots Preventing Holloway From Gold

His closest competition looked to come from Ronald Levy, according to the Olympic sportsbooks. Levy, who had +750 odds to take home the gold now sits with +1000.

Levy won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the 110m hurdles, but came in 14th at the 2019 World Championships.

His best time in the 110m hurdles is 13.05 seconds, which puts him about 1/5th of a second behind Holloway, although his 14th place finish in the World Championships saw him clock in at 13.48 seconds.

At +825 odds, Orlando Ortega’s best time in the event is 12.94 seconds, but Ortega is 30 years old, and his time at the 2019 World Championships was 13.30 seconds.

Sergey Shubenkov is the main challenger to Holloway, sitting with +725 odds.

Shubenkov’s best time was 12.92 seconds, which he reached in 2018, and he won the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships with a time of 13.15 seconds. This saw Holloway edge him out by 0.05 seconds, as he reached the end of the race in 13.10, a time he has since far surpassed.

Still, the reason these other racers are near the top of the Olympic odds boards is that if Holloway has a poor run, any of them could pass him.

If Holloway performs as he did in the Olympic Trials in June, however, a gold medal is all but assured.

TOKYO - Swimming is the sport possibly the most synonymous with the Olympics, and this year in Tokyo has solidified that fact with defining performances from some of the biggest names in the sport.

One of those names is American Caeleb Dressel, who already owns the gold medal in Tokyo for the 100m freestyle and the 4x100 freestyle relay.

Now, Dressel is going for his third gold in the same Games with his entry into the 100m butterfly competition.

Betting odds for the event are available via the online Olympic sportsbooks, with only Kristof Milak as a competitor on the odds.

Swimming 100m Butterfly Men Odds

Caeleb Dressel -1000

Kristof Milak +600

Matthew Temple +1300

James Guy +2000

Joseph Schooling +2000

Mehdy Metella +2000

Chad Le Clos +2500

Josif Miladinov +2500

Andrey Minakov +3300

The sportsbooks have Dressel as a massive -1000 favorite, and for good reason.

Dressel broke the Olympic Record for the 100m butterfly in his preliminary round on Wednesday in Tokyo with a time of 50.39 seconds.

The next closest time in his heat was 50.97 seconds - over half a full second slower than Dressel.

Oh, by the way. Caeleb Dressel went 50.39 and broke the Olympic Record in PRELIMS of the 100 butterfly. This. Dude. Is. DANGEROUS.pic.twitter.com/JOADNDGRiV

— Kyle Sockwell (@kylesockwell) July 29, 2021

It is clear that Dressel is the man to watch these Olympics, and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

Those looking for a betting line with more parity can check out the odds for the women’s 100m freestyle, where Australian Emma McKeon is the big favorite.

Swimming 100m Freestyle Women Odds

Emma McKeon (AUS) -300

Siobhan Haughey (HKG) +450

Cate Campbell (AUS) +600

Sarah Sjostrom (SWE) +1500

Penny Oleksiak (CAN) +2000

Femke Heemskerk (NED) +2500

While -300 isn’t much parity, it is certainly more to work with than the -1000 price tag Dressel is holding.

Those looking to bet on the swimming at the Olympics can lay down a decent amount on McKeon and still receive a 33% ROI.

McKeon is in a similar place in that she also set the Olympic record in the prelims with a time of 52.13 seconds - well ahead of the next fastest time (52.70).

TOKYO - Handball is one of the more exciting sports at the Olympics despite its lack of popularity in the United States. Handball is an extremely fast-paced game that combined athleticism with precision, and at the women’s level, few teams are more complete than Norway.

Norway is the current leader of Group A with two wins and zero losses and comes in with even +100 odds to win the gold medal on the online Olympic sportsbooks.

Handball began as an Olympic sport on the women’s level back at the 1976 Montreal Games. That year, the Soviet Union brought home the gold, but the sport has seen a few different countries dominate the podium over the years.

The Russians as well as former Yugoslavia, South Korea, and China were common winners throughout the 70s and 80s, with Norway also being a strong player. Denmark became a powerhouse at the 1996 games in Atlanta, starting a streak of three straight gold medals through 2004.

It wasn’t until 2008 that Norway finally broke through and won their first gold medal in the event, dethroning the Danish.

Norway went on to win gold in London 2012 as well, before finishing third in the 2016 Games.

Now, those looking to bet on the Olympics can back Norway to climb the mountain back to the top of the sport.

TOKYO - The finals for men’s and women’s trap shooting are set to go Tuesday night from Tokyo, and bettors are getting in their wagers on who will win the gold medal after all is said and done.

The men’s competition features tons of competitors, but ultimately only one can wear the gold medal as the best of the best.

Betting odds for both events and more are available on the Olympic sportsbooks throughout the entire Olympic Games.

Shooting Trap Men Odds

Abdulrahman Al Faihan +2000

Erik Varga +2000

Joao Azevedo +2000

On the men’s side of the draw, Italy’s Mauro de Flippis is the shooting betting favorite to win gold with +350 odds.

The next closest competitor is Matthew Coward-Holley of Team GBR at +500.

De Flippis, 40, is the 2019 Lonato del Garda trap team gold medalist but has never competed in the Olympics before. His prowess in shooting earned him recognition over the last few years, but none prior to this Olympic cycle.

De Flippis is also a veteran of the ISSF World Cup, where he rose to prominence in 2018.

Anyone looking to bet against him will be able to find tremendous value but could be putting themselves behind the barrel.

On the women’s side, there is much less determination of who the favorite is ahead of the competition.

Natalie Rooney +3300

Fatima Galvez of Spain and Xiaojing Wang of China both come in at +500 betting odds to win the gold medal.

Those looking to bet on the Olympics can bet on both women and still come out well ahead on their bet slip. Those looking for value can check out Jessica Rossi at +800.

Rossi is a world champion that hasn’t shot her best in recent competitions, but could easily make that surprise jump in the Olympic shooting competition.

TOKYO - The archery competition at this year’s Tokyo Olympics is shaping up to be one of the more exciting events of the Games. Odds have been released for women’s and men's archery events, with the team and individual categories available for betting.

In the team competition, it is South Korea that holds the shortest odds to win gold via the legal Olympic betting sites.

Archery Women’s Team Odds

South Korea looks to retain their dominance in the sport that dates back decades.

South Korea has won 23 of the total 34 gold medals awarded for archery since 1984 and is in prime position to win the women’s and men’s team competitions once again.

This is great news for a US team that will rely on him to carry the biggest load.

Those looking Olympic betting odds on archery can also find India’s Deepika Kumari as the individual favorite.

Archery Individual Women Odds

The odds for the Olympic soccer tournament have Spain (+200) and Brazil (+275) holding the shortest odds on the men’s side.

Team USA is the natural favorite on the women’s side with -180 odds to win gold.

TOKYO - The sides for the Olympic soccer competition are now official and betting odds are being unveiled for the competition.

Olympic soccer is a tough draw for many fans as the biggest players in the world are rarely present for Olympic competition due to the under-23 rule for the men’s teams.

The women’s teams have full access to players, but few expect anything other than another dominant showing by the USA Women’s National Team in Tokyo.

The Olympic sportsbooks have now released odds on the competition, with Spain and Brazil as the favorite for the men’s tournament.

Soccer Men's Tournament Winner

Spain +200

Brazil +275

France +500

Argentina +800

Japan +800

Germany +900

South Korea +1600

Mexico +4000

Romania +4000

The men’s competition at the Olympics typically takes a backseat to the epic international competitions being held in the Summer like the Copa America and European Championships due to the lack of star power.

Only U-23 members are allowed on the squad for the men, with the exception of three ageless players that can be added to the squad if desired.

In the past, these exceptions have been used to bring some star power to the Games. Neymar Jr. was the most famous instance of this, leading Brazil to gold in Rio 2016.

Spain comes in as the favorite and is led by veteran Marco Asensio. Their biggest competition will be Brazil, which are bringing in a true ringer in Dani Alves to lead their squad.

Bets for this competition are advised to be placed in the group stage. Each of the teams is surrounded by mystery, and only after seeing the squads play together can you make an educated bet on who will win this competition.

There is much less mystery on the women’s side, where Team USA is predicted to perform at an elite level once again.

Soccer Women's Tournament Winner

USA -180

Netherlands +600

Great Britain +800

Brazil +1200

Sweden +1200

Japan +1400

Australia +2500

Canada +2500

The US women are bringing back much of their elite 2016 gold medal squad including stars Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Julie Ertz, and more.

The US women are in tremendous form, and just wrapped up a win over Mexico in their send of series ahead of the Games.

Anyone looking to bet on Olympic soccer this year should place their money on the USWNT now instead of later.

Once the competition begins, it is likely that these odds top heavily in favor of the USA as they steamroll through the group competition.

A US loss at any stage in the Games would be a massive disappointment.

TOKYO - One of the biggest betting favorites at this year’s Tokyo Olympic Games is Great Britain swimmer Adam Peaty.

Peaty has achieved a mastery of the breaststroke unlike that of which has ever been established in the history of organized aquatics.

Peaty currently holds the 20 fastest times in his event, the 100m breaststroke, and is looking to defend his 2016 Olympic gold medal this month in Japan.

Betting odds have Peaty as a massive -2000 favorite to win his second gold medal via Olympic sportsbooks.

Peaty began his dominance in 2014, when he first competed in the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. Since then he has gone on to win eight World Championships, sixteen European Championships, three Commonwealth Champions, and break 13 world records.

Peaty currently holds three world records, two for the 100m breaststroke in long and short courses, and one for the 50m breaststroke.

He was the first human to swim the 100m breaststroke in under 58 and then under 57 seconds.

Anyone looking to bet on Olympic swimming can wager a huge amount to win a little on Peaty taking the gold.
TOKYO - Odds for the Olympic Golf tournament are available, with the field looking to be full of many more stars than originally anticipated.

The best players in the world of golf are in England for the Open Championship this week, but many of them will be boarding a flight to Tokyo in a short amount of time to represent their country at the Olympics.

The odds for the tournament are now available across the Olympic sportsbooks with US Open winner Jon Rahm the heavy favorite to win gold.

Odds to Win Men's Olympic Golf

Jon Rahm +400

Christiaan Bezuidenhout +4000

Corey Conners +4000

Garrick Higgo +4000

Tommy Fleetwood +4000

Si Woo Kim +5000

While a large complaint about the Olympic golf field in Rio was the lack of star power, detractors will have a tough time making that same claim in 2021. World No. 1 and reigning US Open champion Jon Rahm will be representing Spain at the Olympics and is the heavy favorite with a near +800 gap between him and the next closest player.

The four players on Team USA are all ranked in the Top 30 of the Official World Golf Rankings, and the tournament was able to draw names like Rory McIlory, Viktor Hovland, Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama, and more.

The max a team from one country can allow at the Olympics is four players, so it is impossible for the tournament to see all the amazing US players like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, and more on the same team.

Instead, fans will be able to enjoy a truly unique competition over four days in Tokyo.

Those looking to bet on Olympic Golf can find very valuable odds on nearly every golfer after Rahm. A +400 price tag is too ridiculous in any stroke play event like this, so bettors are better off waiting for his price to drop mid-round or going with a different pick.

Sungjae Im at +3000 is a name that jumps off the board. Im just forwent his invitation to the Open Championship to focus on the Olympics due to a special circumstance. In his home country of South Korea, all men have to serve some sort of military service between the ages of 18 and 28.

One of the only ways to get out of this service is to win an Olympic medal. Im has that rare opportunity this month to accomplish this goal. Out of all the competitors, Sungjae certainly has the most the play for.

Swiss watch-makers Omega continues to innovate and pioneer timing technology to uphold their title as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympics.

TOKYO - When dealing with the fastest, most powerful, and most precise athletes in the world at the Olympic Games, timing is everything.

That statement rings true for nearly every competitor headed to Tokyo this month.

Whether they are always shooting for the fastest time in their event or timing their entire life around these competitions, time is an inescapable key aspect of the Olympic process.

Swiss watchmakers Omega are more familiar with this process than most. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1936, and will once again be supplying clocks, positioning, and tracking technology for this year’s Games in Japan.

Omega will be keeping track of all 339 events across 39 sports at the Olympics this year, using their tools to track and time exact movement and action from sprinters to Olympic skateboarders.

As they have done each and every year, Omega will be rolling out new innovations at this year’s Games. Omega’s evolutions in athletic timekeeping have the goal of reinventing the way people understand sports into a complete and total understanding of the action taking place.

Some of the new innovations being brought into action at the Tokyo Olympics include a new light and electronic sound starting pistol that is a significant upgrade from the previous model.

A new photo-finish aid known as the Omega Scan’O’Vision MYRIA will be rolled out in certain events. The camera technology captures 10,000 frames per second leading to the most accurate results in history.

“I expect we will continue in the same way, with many more exciting developments to come,” says Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of Omega. “But really, the next frontier is already here. Motion sensing and positioning systems are helping us to see and understand each event in a brand new way, with in-depth data and live athlete information being collected like never before.”
