The two also won the silver medal for the pair event back in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The pair of Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov for the ROC, although might not have as much experience that China does, could turn out to be a great story, and their figure skating odds certainly back that. The two have been paired for some time and have won seven total gold medals together with their first coming in 2016 at the Junior Grand Prix. Since then, they have captured gold at the 2018 Junior Grand Prix, World Junio Championships, World Team Trophy, European Championships, and World Championships.

It is also worth noting that they each won gold in the team figure skating event at this year's 2022 Winter Olympics. What makes this a great story is that they made their World Championship debut in 2021 and have yet to miss an opportunity at a gold medal. They are also the second-youngest pair to win the World Championships.

One major career achievement that Takagi has on Leerdam, however, is that this will be Leerdam’s first-ever Olympic games in which she will face tons of pressure.

BEIJING – As the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics draw closer, the United States is beginning to ramp up its athletes for each sport. One sport, in particular, to keep an eye on is figure skating.

Looking at where the United States currently sits in the figure skating qualifiers, Nathan Chen is the one that is leading the way. Chen competed at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic in the team event where he earned a bronze medal.

Other than the bronze medal he earned, he has made a name for himself in the singles tournaments as well. He has eight gold medals in singles tournaments with his last one coming in 2021 at the Stockholm World Championship.

In addition to his 2021 World Championship gold medal, he has three total World Championship gold medals, three Grand Prix gold medals, and Four Continents gold medals.
