BEIJING, China – Snowboarding is one of the staple sports at the Winter Olympics each year and at Beijing 2022 it is no different. Snowboarding events have already been going on and now it is time for the women’s big air competition.

Sitting ahead of the rest at the top of the odds board, Winter Olympic betting sites have New Zealand snowboarder, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, is favored to come away with the gold medal. Sadowski-Synnott has had an impressive Winter Olympic outing thus far having won the gold medal in the women’s slopestyle competition already.

Beijing 2022 – Women’s Big Air

Zoi Sadowski Synnott (NZL) +225

Anna Gasser (AUT) +450

Jamie Anderson (USA) +500

Reira Iwabuchi (JPN) +600

Kokomo Murase (JPN) +900

Miyabi Onitsuka (JPN) +900

Standing Her Dominance

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott is one of the most well-known women’s snowboarders in the world as she is the number one ranked women’s snowboarder. She has won a total of seven gold medals in her snowboarding career with one of them coming in the big air events. In total though, she has won four medals in big air events.

She has been having an incredible start to 2022 so far with three gold medals to her name. Two of them came at the 2022 Winter X Games and her most recent was now at the Olympics.

She will have some competition though as sitting right behind her on the odds board is Anna Gasser of Austria who won the gold medal for the women’s big air competition back in the 2018 Winter Olympics while Sadowski-Synnott won the bronze medal. All in all, it is not every day that long snowboarding odds come on someone of Sadowski-Synnott’s caliber making this a great bet to make.

BEIJING – The Men’s Ice Hockey event continues to its second round and sportsbooks are expecting the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) to make easy work with Denmark.

However, Denmark was the underdog in the preliminary round against the Czech Republic and was able to pull the upset. Their long odds at Olympic betting sites may turn a big profit yet again.

Winter Olympics Men Odds

Russian Olympic Committee -600

Denmark +425

Denmark Making History

Denmark finished with a 2-1 victory against the Czech Republic while being 2-goal underdogs. This was the first time Denmark competed in the Ice Hockey event at the Olympic games in the nation’s history.

"This is a huge moment for Danish hockey. We're not usually at the Olympics," said Heinz Ehlers, Denmark head coach. "We're so happy and proud right now."

The star of the matchup was Sebastian Dahm, goalie of Denmark. Dahm, who plays for the Austrian Hockey League finished with 39 saves in the game.

Former NHL player Frans Nielsen also had a big game, scoring one of the goals for Denmark. This game showed that the underdog Denmark has plenty of talent on their roster.

The ROC only scored one goal in their win against Switzerland where they held their opponents scoreless.

Their strong defense has led them in the past, however, as Russia is the reigning Olympic gold medal team. Russia is also favored heavily with -600 odds to win Group B.

Denmark is not likely to score multiple goals against the ROC so they need to rely heavily on Dahm keeping Russia at bay.

Sportsbooks Like Russia

The interesting thing about this matchup is that sportsbooks hosting Olympic ice hockey odds truly view Denmark as underdogs, giving shorter odds for the game to end in a tie than for Denmark to outright win.

3-Way Moneyline - Regulation Time

Russian Olympic Committee – REG -385

Tie – REG +475

Denmark – REG +775

For those confident in Denmark, taking them on the three-way moneyline is the more profitable option. In addition, the tie would also payout well and can be a beneficial choice for those who simply do not wish to take Russia due to how short the odds are.

BEIJING – The Winter Olympics are ready to begin on Friday and one of the biggest sporting events is Alpine Skiing. In particular, the women’s Alpine Skiing events are becoming more popular in the United States being that Mikaela Shiffrin has a chance to win three gold medals in a row in 2022.

Shiffrin won the gold medal in 2014 in the women’s slalom and again in 2018 at the women’s giant slalom. Now, Winter Olympic sportsbooks have Shiffrin’s odds as the second shortest to win a gold medal in both events.

Beijing 2022 Betting Odds – Women’s Slalom

Petra Vlhova (SVK) -110

Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) +138

Lena Duerr (GER) +1200

Wendy Holdener (SUI) +1600

Beijing 2022 Betting Odds – Women’s Giant Slalom

Sara Hector (SWE) +250

Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) +325

Tessa Worley (FRA) +500

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI) +600

No Stranger To Gold

There is a reason that Mikaela Shiffrin’s Alpine Skiing Olympic odds are where they are as she has won gold medals all throughout her career as an alpine skier. Not only has she won a gold medal for both events in the Winter Olympics, but she has also loaded up her resume with world championship gold medals.

Her first world championship gold medal came in 2013 and it was followed up in 2015, 2017, and 2019 all in the slalom events. She has also won gold medals in Super-G (2019) and combined events (2021) events as well. In giant slalom events, she won two silver world championship medals in 2017 and 2021.

She also has tons of World Cup experience as well coming in first place from 2013-2015 and 2017 in slalom events and came in first overall in 2017. In the World Cup giant slalom events, she came in third in 2015 and second in 2017.

Both of her odds offer tremendous value, however, due to her history in the slalom events, it is best to get in on her odds sooner than later before a potential shift as the event goes on.

BEIJING – The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are just two weeks away and there are plenty of betting odds to get in on. Some of the most popular betting odds that are available for the Winter Olympics are the total medals won by each country.

With those odds, bettors can bet on whether they think each country will go Over or Under their given total.

The only time they stayed Under was in the 2018 Olympics where they finished with 23 total medals.

Betting $100 on the U.S. to hit the Over could profit $115 if they were to accomplish it.

Over 42.5 -115

Under 42.5 -115

Norway has been given the highest medal total being that they are the leaders in all-time Winter Olympic medals won with 368 total medals.

Although Norway has asserted their dominance at the Winter Olympics, 42.5 might be a stretch to hit.

Norway has not gone over that mark in the last five Olympics, winning their most (39 medals) during the 2018 Olympics.

Germany Total Medals

Total Medals – Germany

Over 24.5 +10

Under 24.5 -145

Germany has stayed relevant in the medal conversation over the years as they have gone Over their 24.5 mark in four of the last Olympics.

In 2018 though, they won their second-most medals over the last five years with 31 won. Backing their odds, even more, is that they have the third shortest odds to win the most overall medals in Beijing at +1000.

Russia Total Medals

Total Medals – Russia

Over 31.5 -145

Under 31.5 +110

It is strange seeing Russia’s medal total set so high being that they have yet to hit the Over in the last five Olympics. In fact, they have only broken 30 total medals won once in that time period.

The only thing backing their Winter Olympic odds are their odds to lead in total medals which are the second shortest at +900.

Canada Total Medals

Total Medals – Canada

Over 22.5 -130

Under 22.5 +100

Canada is another country that has been hot over the last five Winter Olympics as they have gone Over four times.

However, those four times came in four straight Olympics. With that, their streak can certainly continue in Beijing.

BEIJING - The Winter Olympics are just a few weeks away from starting and one of the best betting options is on curling as the field is wide open.

Men's Curling Odds Favor Canada

If there is any country that's proven to be successful in Olympic curling, it's Canada.

The Canadian men brought home the gold medal in 2006, 2010, 2014 before finishing fourth in the most recent Olympic Games. Thus, they have the shortest Olympic betting odds.

Beijing 2022 - Men's Curling Odds

Canada +200

Great Britain +220

Sweden +360

Switzerland +900

USA +1400

Italy +2000

Norway +2800

Russian Olympic Committee +2800

China +8000

Denmark +8000

Great Britain won the first Olympic curling gold medal back in 1924, but haven't topped the podium since.

They finished second in 2014 and 5th in 2018, maybe not being as good of a bet as Sweden considering Sweden has finished on the podium in each of the last two Olympics, placing third in 2014 and second in 2018.

Women's Curling Odds Favor Sweden

Sweden has been a women's curling dynasty over the last 15 years. They won gold in 2006, 2010 and in 2018 while finishing second in 2014. It shouldn't be too surprising to find them atop the curling betting odds.

Beijing 2022 - Women's Curling Odds

Sweden (W) +300

Canada (W) +325

Great Britain (W) +350

Switzerland (W) +700

USA (W) +1000

Japan (W) +1200

Russian Olympic Committee (W) +1400

South Korea (W) +1400

China (W) +4000

Denmark (W) +4000

The only team that's been even as nearly as consistent as Sweden is Canada. They went five straight Olympic Games finishing on the podium from 1998-2014 before finishing sixth last time around.

Even Great Britain, despite being just behind on the odds board, has just one gold medal and one bronze medal over the years.

Sweden at +300 seems like an easy bet to make.

BEIJING - The Olympic hockey odds have undergone some serious changes over the last month due to the changing rules of the tournament.

How The Odds Have Changed

It was originally reported that NHL players would be allowed to compete in the games as the league was willing to suspend the season to allow the athletes to travel. However, that has since been scratched which means the Olympics will go on without any NHL players. This left the Olympic betting odds in a state of change.

Beijing 2022 - Men's Hockey Odds

Russian Olympic Committee +150

Finland +400

Sweden +450

Canada +600

Czech Republic +800

USA +1000

Germany +1600

Switzerland +2500

Slovakia +5000

Latvia +6600

Denmark +8000

China +100000

When NHL players were expected to go, Canada, the United States and the Russian Olympic Committee were the three favorites, without the athletes, that is no longer the case.

Russia has seemed to benefit the most as they are home to the KHL, thought to be the best professional hockey league aside from the NHL. It's why Russia won gold in 2018.

Is The USA Worth Betting On?

Although the United States has seen some success over the years in the Olympics for hockey, this doesn't seem to be their year. With none of the top athletes available, their recently announced roster just seems to fall short in talent in comparison to the field.

Those looking to bet on Olympic hockey may be better off siding with Canada, Finland or Sweden if trying to beat the favorites.

BEIJING – As the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics draw closer, the United States is beginning to ramp up its athletes for each sport. One sport, in particular, to keep an eye on is figure skating.

Looking at where the United States currently sits in the figure skating qualifiers, Nathan Chen is the one that is leading the way. Chen competed at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic in the team event where he earned a bronze medal.

Other than the bronze medal he earned, he has made a name for himself in the singles tournaments as well. He has eight gold medals in singles tournaments with his last one coming in 2021 at the Stockholm World Championship.

In addition to his 2021 World Championship gold medal, he has three total World Championship gold medals, three Grand Prix gold medals, and Four Continents gold medals.

Looking into the odds, figure skating Olympic odds are not yet available, however, it is safe to assume that when they do come out that Chen will be somewhere near the top of the odds board.

For those that are wanting to get in on Olympic betting action that could relate to figure skating, Olympic betting sites have odds on which country is going to win the most gold medals.

The United States currently is tied for the third shortest odds to lead in gold medals and Nathan Chen could certainly play a part in cashing those odds.

There are a total of 15 sports being played at the Winter Olympic Games, and some of the most popular ones to watch out for are alpine skiing, snowboarding, and curling.

Alpine Skiing

Alpine skiing was first introduced at the Winter Olympics in 1948.

In the history of the event, Austria has dominated in the men’s downhill event winning 7 of 19 gold medals. Austria has also done a solid job on the women’s side winning 5 of 19 gold medals since the start of the sport.

Alpine Skiing Events

Downhill

Super-G

Giant Slalom

Slalom

Combined events.

As the Winter Olympics continue to get close, online betting sites will have plenty of alpine skiing odds to choose from.

Snowboarding

The first snowboarding Winter Olympic event took place in 1998 with the halfpipe contest. All in all, there are seven snowboard contests throughout the Olympics including Big Air, Halfpipe, three Slalom events, Slopestyle, and Snowboard Cross.

Looking at the classic halfpipe event, the United States has won four of the six gold medals with Ross Powers winning the first in 2002 and Shaun White with three in 2006, 2010, and 2018.

The U.S. also has the most gold medals in the women’s halfpipe event behind Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, Kaitlyn Farrington, and Chloe Kim.

Curling

Curling is one of the original Winter Olympic sports since 1924, however, between 1928 and 1994, it was not recognized as a sport.

In the seven men’s curling events that have taken place over the years, Canada has walked away with three gold medals. The United States is the most recent gold medal winner for men’s curling.

The women’s curling event was introduced in 1998 in which Canada won the first gold medal. Since then in the six women’s curling events, Sweden has won three of them.

BEIJING - The 2022 Winter Olympics are edging closer and closer, with a start date of Feb. 4, 2022.

Leading up to the Games, online sportsbooks that offer Olympic odds have begun to post betting lines on large scale categories, such as which country will come home with the most gold medals.

Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 - Most Gold Medals

Norway +185

Germany +200

Canada +600

USA +600

Russia +700

China +1500

Netherlands +2000

Sweden +3300

Austria +5000

France +5000

Switzerland +6600

Italy +10000

South Korea +10000

Finland +25000

Japan +25000

Poland +25000

The 2022 Winter Olympics medal odds seem very similar to how the 2018 odds ended up. In the 2018 Games, Norway and Germany tied for the most gold medals with 14 each.

Norway, however, ended up with 39 overall medals to Germany’s 31, and are thus listed first in the official count.

Past Medal Counts For The Winter Olympics

In 2014, when the Olympics were held in Sochi, Russia came out on top, with 11 gold medals and 30 overall medals, beating Norway to the finish by four overall medals, despite both countries ending up with 11 golds to bring home.

The 2010 Olympics was the last time that the Winter Olympics had a true outright gold medal winner, as there were ties for the gold medal category in both 2014 and 2018.

In 2010, however, Norway dominated, winning 14 gold medals, while Germany won 10 gold medals.

If one considers 2014 to be an outlier due to Russia’s home-field advantage, Norway has been the most consistent country in terms of gold medal production for the Winter Olympic Games.

However, 2006 was the last time Norway was not near the top of the gold medal list, although Germany dominated in 2006 to the tune of 11 gold medals, two more than their closest competitor, the United States.

This review of the previous four events of the Winter Olympics should make it clear that Norway is likely going to be at the top of the medal count while Germany is another top contender and other countries outside of the two are considered the longshots.

This seems to match up with the way the odds were set up by sportsbooks - Norway and Germany at the top with no other countries under odds of +500.

However, it seems likely that these betting lines will change and shift as the Games get closer, so smart betting fans might want to jump on any of the better looking odds they see now while they’re still available.

The United States has the second-most medals of all time, including eight silver medals.

BEIJING – The 2022 Winter Olympics will be hosted in Beijing as Canada looks to regain its spot as the top country for ice hockey. The Olympic Athletes From Russia are the reigning champions, but could struggle in defending the title.

Which Teams Will Be Favored?

As of this point, there are no Olympic betting odds available for the 2022 ice hockey event. However, it’s not too hard to figure out which teams will be the favorites.

Canada

The Canadians are the leaders of the hockey world. The country has won two of the last three gold medals and has the most gold medals of all time (9). From top to bottom, no country can compete in terms of talent.

With options like Steven Stamkos, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid as forwards and Jordan Binnington and Carey Price in net, it’s an elite team and the top players don’t stop there.

Russia

Russia will have players like Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Nikita Kucherov, Vladimir Tarasenko and goalies like Andrei Vasilevskiy and Sergei Bobrovsky leading the team there is a lot of talent in Russia. The team won the Olympic ice hockey gold medal in 2018 and will likely be near the top of the odd boards again in 2022.

United States

Auston Matthews, Patrick Kane, Johnny Gaudreau, Jack Eichel, Seth Jones and Connor Hellebuyck will likely lead the United States as the country looks for their first hockey gold medal since 1980.

The United States seems to always be competitive, but never the best. However, their talent should be enough to keep them towards the top on the short list of betting favorites.

Olympic Rosters At Full Strength

The 2018 Olympics didn’t have any NHL players as they weren’t allowed to leave their teams mid-season, however, that will not be the case in 2022. The NHL and NHL Player’s Union have made an agreement to allow players to compete in the Olympics with a scheduled break in the middle of the NHL season.

This likely gives Canada a much better shot to compete and the same can be said with the united States while Russia’s chance of repeating likely decreases a bit. Either way, there’s a lot of time for things to change and be solidified before the Olympics start.
