Baseball/Softball Venues For Tokyo 2020

The baseball and softball venues for the 2020 Olympics will be the Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium and the Yokohama Baseball Stadium. Baseball has made a couple of different appearances in the Olympics and it was last seen in the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. There will only be six baseball and softball teams playing at the Olympics, so competition will be fierce. Baseball is extremely popular in Japan, so these are great locations for those games to be played.

If you are planning on a trip to go to Japan to watch baseball or softball at the Summer Olympics, this page will be able to help you out. We will give you important information about transportation to the venue, what kind of weather you should expect in Tokyo, what there is to do around the area and in Tokyo, and there will be information about food as well. This page is designed to help you get around both of the baseball stadiums and make the most out of your trip to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium

The Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium first opened its doors back in 1986 and has hosted several baseball games since then. The maximum capacity for the field is 30,000, so expect several baseball fans to be here. The baseball stadium is completely open air so there is no dome to keep the sun out. The stadium is part of the Azuma Sports Park, and that is divided into four areas. You will find a sports area, family area, nature area, and a history area. That means there is plenty to do around the stadium after the games wrap up.

Yokohama Baseball Stadium

The Yokohama Baseball Stadium is right in the middle of the city. This baseball field first opened its doors in 1978 and it was renovated back in 2007. This baseball stadium houses 30,000 baseball fans and it is currently being expanded to hold even more. Yokohama Baseball Stadium is home to one of Japan’s professional baseball teams, the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. This is Japan’s first ever multi-purpose stadium and has held several events over the years, including Michael Jackson and Madonna concerts.

Weather Conditions For Baseball/Softball

There is no dome at the Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium or at the Yokohama Baseball Stadium, so fans should not expect much shade while watching the games. The 2020 Summer Olympics takes place shortly after the rainy season in Japan. Although there are chances of scattered showers, what you will likely face are high temperatures reaching up to 95 degrees fahrenheit. It will probably feel hotter because summers in Japan are extremely humid.

If you add on the surplus of people coming to Tokyo for the Summer Olympics, it is going to be even hotter. For that reason, OlympicBettingOdds.com suggests that you stay hydrated while you are traveling around Tokyo or are heading to a venue. If possible, bringing an umbrella around to shade yourself could work out as well. You might not be able to use an umbrella during the games, so bring a hat or visor.
