Yumenoshima Park Archery Field

The Yumenoshima Park Archery Field is an archery field currently being constructed inside Yumenoshima Park. The park itself is a beautiful piece of land spanning over 100 acres, with a tropical botanical garden area as well as a place to hold barbeques. Now, it will be the home to a field for archery. The archery field will allow for a shooting distance of 70 m and have a target face of 122cm in diameter. The center of the target will be 130cm above ground level. Once the Olympic games have ended, the field will remain and be used by the public for recreational and sporting purposes.

The sport of archery was introduced into the Olympic games in 1900 but it is not nearly as well known in Japan as other sports are. They will also host numerous archery competitions at the field in hopes of better promoting the sport in Japan. This page will guide you through the games being held at this location as well as other facts you might need while in Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

What Else To Do In Tokyo During The 2020 Olympics

Tokyo has so many things to see, you might forget you’re there to see the 2020 Olympics. Catch a live sumo wrestling match at Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Stadium. It’s a real sport, not just something seen in a Hollywood comedy. Every street corner has endless vending machines with the weirdest options available, like beer specially made for children.

Olympic Betting Odds knows if you haven’t already made your hotel reservations, reserve one night at a capsule hotel. One night because the name says it all, you’re given a small single capsule to sleep in. Again, another social media needed experience and a fun experience in general because you get to see how vastly different the cultures are. Chow down on Japanese cuisine at the Robot Restaurant. You are served traditional Japanese cuisine while watching robots and cyborgs dance with humans. It’s a pretty interesting look into the wave of the future. Sort of like Westworld, Tokyo edition.

Lastly, for all the gamers out there, old school Nintendo gamers, you will want to book a tour through the streets of Tokyo in a Mario Kart! That’s right, you get to drive in the Mario Karts you’ve only been able to steer on your television, but in reality. It’s not a race though, it’s a tour, so sit back and enjoy.

Weather During The 2020 Olympics In Tokyo

A normal, Tokyo summer day is hot with highs in the nineties and lows in the seventies. Predictions for the Olympics are no different, except they are already expecting record highs. The weather will be hot, rainy, and humid. You’ll need some essentials to make it through the games comfortably. Sunscreen and water are the top two things on the list. You do not want to get heatstroke. Light clothing, hats, visors, umbrellas, and raincoats are also advisable. Little fans are also helpful to combat the weather.

Getting To The Yumenoshima Park Archery Field

There are a couple different ways to get to the venue, and driving yourself is not one of the most time effective. While you can always choose that option, it is not recommended because of the amount of traffic there will be due to the crowds. Tokyo on its own is a very crowded city. When you add in tourists from all around the world, you might be listening to the games from a car radio if you choose to drive yourself.

Traveling By Railway

You may take the JR Keiyo Line (JE05), Subway Yurakucho Line (Y24) or the Rinkai Line. All three trains will get you there and you will get off at the same stop for all three and that stop is the Shin-kiba Station stop. From there, it will take you about seven minutes to get to the facility, just follow the crowd.

Traveling By Bus

If you’d rather take the bus, there are two buses you can take depending on the day of the week. On a weekday, the Toei bus (18) from Kinshico Station is the bus to take. Get off at the Yumenoshima stop and then take a five-minute stroll to the field. On the weekends, take Toei bus (05) from Kinshico Station and get off at the Yumenoshima stop. Again, it will take about five minutes of walking to get you to your destination. The exact address of Yumenoshima Park Archery Field is 2-chrome, Yumenoshima, Koto-ku, Tokyo.
